Is Ben 10 Dead?
The question we all wonder: will there be a new Ben 10 series? Yes, the Ben 10 reboot ended in 2021 and
it has been 4 years without a new Ben 10 series. Although fans keep spreading various rumors, the reboot happened and it’s over.
We haven't heard any news or official announcements. After all, CN is a company and needs to make money. Ben 10 used to be one of the most profitable
cartoons, and this potential was still there. However, the Ben 10 Reboot that aired in 2016 got a 2.8 rating on IMDb. Sure, this was partly due to the anger
of the old Ben 10 fanbase, but the reboot still brought in $4.5 billion globally—an amount that can't be ignored.

So the new generation probably never saw the original Ben 10 and grew up with the reboot. If you have nothing to compare it with, you just judge the show by itself: if it's good, you watch it; if not, you change the channel. The fact that today's kids love the reboot isn't just a coincidence, even if it seems terrible to us. The truth is, it only feels wrong to us because we grew up with the original and feel like our childhood was betrayed. But to a child from the new generation, the reboot isn't that bad when looked at with fresh eyes. If there had never been any Ben 10 before and the reboot was the first series, it might even be called a pretty good show. Since around 2012–13, there's been a shift toward simplicity in cartoons. Animation has been optimized to require less effort, and with YouTube, reaching global markets has become easier. It's fair to say that modern cartoons like the reboot owe their reach largely to YouTube.
However, the original Ben 10 Classic generated over $6 billion worldwide. When you factor in the high dollar value at the time, this is a very significant number.

So this isn't an amount to just walk away from—especially if you're producing easily replicable animated shows. At the very least, it's not something to ignore.
The Dumbing Down of the New Generation
Yes, although we remain hopeful about our children, the truth is that the new generation mostly melts their brains on social media, spends time on platforms like Netflix full of teen drama, and consumes fast, easy, non-critical content—falling into the role of the classic mindless consumer. This has made weekly 22-minute animated shows seem outdated and less profitable. Apparently, Disney noticed this too and has stopped operating as a traditional TV channel. Cartoon Network has also felt the impact and is shifting toward a YouTube-based revenue model. While TV broadcasts still exist, kids today mostly sit with a tablet during breakfast or mealtime, playing random YouTube videos or cartoons. Naturally, this has killed the old model of serialized animated shows. In the end, commerce has no morality. Where’s the money? On platforms like YouTube. And so, this crushes our Ben 10 hopes—because no money means no show.
No Hope Left? Any Creator Announcements?
Of course, this isn't the only reason. The creators themselves have admitted to some missteps during the process—like the age issue, or the highly criticized art style of Omniverse, or the disruptions in the main story arc. But Duncan Rouleau, one of the creators of Ben 10, stated that he would like to reboot the series with more mature themes. In particular, he has been focusing on a spin-off idea centered around the "Ben 10000" character.
Duncan Rouleau said in an interview:
"Absolutely. A series with higher stakes and mature themes would be amazing. Not blood or sexual content, but something that tackles emotional, social, and political themes would be exciting."
